The construction of the combs of this small colony is almost completed at the top, it is now intensifying in depth towards the flight hole. The current heatwave can be a problem for inadequately insulated hives, sometimes resulting in broken combs and increased stress for the bees, which have to regulate the temperature inside the hive. Putting on a small honey box ..
One of our Bee Towers has a classic Warré installation on the top with upper beams and Warré cushions, so it is possible to harvest some honey without much effort, which we have now prepared by placing a small Warré magazine measuring 30x30x10 cm (9 litres capacity). 3 small glass panes at the back, which are closed with corks, allow us to observe the development of the honeycombs.
